Day 220 – Elvis Inked
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010Day 123 – Lobster Claw and Ink
Sunday, January 17th, 2010
This didn’t come out as I’d hoped, the ink didn’t react the way I’d hoped it to
Day 61 – Screwed
Monday, November 16th, 2009
I really had no clue what to draw tonight, and before I knew it I was sketching using a screw and my blue ink. It has some redeeming qualities.
Day 58 – Printer Fail
Friday, November 13th, 2009
The printer started running out of ink.
Day 36 – Brig. Gen. Montgomery C. Meigs
Thursday, October 22nd, 2009
I need to get back in the practice of doing figure drawing, and doing it with ink is a hoot. This one turned out pretty good, other than the body isn’t as thin as it should be. Not bad for a 15-20 minute drawing.
Day 15 – Hand and Apple
Thursday, October 1st, 2009
Well, my wife and kids have discovered the location of my missing block print carving tools, and I was going to work on a print tonight, but then I realized that I didn’t have the time to design a print, carve a print, print the print, and let it dry and have it done for tonight, so I thought I’d try another exercise, and cross-hatching was it. If the hand looks a little off, it’s because it’s a two year old’s.
Day 14 – Eye
Wednesday, September 30th, 2009
I really was not happy with the sketches from the last couple days, so I thought I should starting working on the detail, instead of just worrying about the whole picture. I also caught myself starting to look at this project as a chore, which I really don’t want it to become. I need to work on things that excite me. Maybe I’ll go back to more cut paper, that was exciting.
Day 13 – Portrait of a Robot
Tuesday, September 29th, 2009
I’m sill not very happy with the self portrait I did yesterday, so I thought I’d go with something a little more simple. It’s what nightmares are made of
Day 12 – Self Portrait
Monday, September 28th, 2009
Well, it was bound to come to a self portrait before too long. I think it came out okay, but I think I look a little too much like Bobby Hill for my taste. And a note to prove that I’m just posting what I make, please note the error line in my cheek/lower jaw. I also made myself a little heavier than I really am. It’s okay, and it was a nice exercise.
Day 5 – Peanut Butter Candy
Monday, September 21st, 2009
I finally got out and bought a pen I feel comfortable drawing with. There’s just something about line drawing with ink that is great to me. With every line, there’s no going back. You have to make EVERY line work. It’s great.
