Day 6 – Barbie

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Well, this is my subject for a drawing when I ask my daughter what I should draw. To be technical, this is Disney’s Ariel, not Barbie… but you know, they’re all the same to her. This coloring didn’t come out as I’d hoped, but it finally adds a little color to my entries.

Day 5 – Peanut Butter Candy

Monday, September 21st, 2009

I finally got out and bought a pen I feel comfortable drawing with. There’s just something about line drawing with ink that is great to me. With every line, there’s no going back. You have to make EVERY line work. It’s great.

Day 4 – New Shoe

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

I think there something screwy with he perspective on this, but I think I did alright, considering I haven’t done any drawing for years. It’s a fun exercise.

Day 3 – Green Beans

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

As you might have noticed, my art supplies are VERY limited, and I only currently have 2 colors of ink. I’ll hopefully be able to get some more soon.

I also gone back to more of the type of art I used to do. This one ended up being very “Warholian”.

Day 2 – Bottle Caps

Friday, September 18th, 2009

This one didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped, but it’s okay. I didn’t wash my brush out all that well, so there is some color bleeding in the silver areas.

Day 1 – Bass Player

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Well, you need to start out slow, so, here it is, day 1. I’ve been wanting to work on more pen and ink line studies, so there might be a lot of those showing up here.

The Beginning – September 17, 2009

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Today is day one of my attempt to create one piece of art a day, for 365 days. It might be as small as a sketch (most will probably be this) or something as large as a full painting, but there will be something posted daily. I know of a couple of times in the next year where this may get to be tricky, from being out of time, and other engagements, but I will post. It might be only a photo of the sketch, instead of a scan, but it will make it online.

So, I hope you enjoy what I’m attempting to do, and follow my daily trials as much as you can. Also, please feel free to comment on what I post. I’ll need the feedback.

Thank you for your time!
